The Communications Regulation Commission has completed an auction procedure for granting authorizations for use of individually assigned scarce resource – radio frequency spectrum in the 3.6 GHz band
The Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) conducted on April 6th 2021 an auction for granting authorizations for use of individually assigned scarce resource – radio frequency spectrum in the 3.6 GHz band for carrying out electronic communications through terrestrial network permitting provision of electronic communications services (TDD mode of operation) with national coverage.
The auction subject was granting of three authorizations for use of radio frequency spectrum in the 3.6 GHz band with national coverage for a period of 20 years.
The auction was finalized successfully with assignment of the foreseen radio frequency resource to the three bidders according to the auction procedure rules and the proposed bids, as follows:
- One authorization for the radio frequency band 3600–3700 MHz to А1 BULGARIA EAD with a price offered of BGN 4 700 000.
- One authorization for the radio frequency band 3700–3800 MHz to BULGARIAN TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANY EAD with a price offered of BGN 4 600 000.
- One authorization for the radio frequency band 3500–3600 MHz to TELENOR BULGARIA EAD with a price offered of BGN 4 100 000.
The total amount envisaged to be paid by the three undertakings participating in the auction for the use of the frequencies provided is BGN 13 400 000.
